Encinitas Up Close, Santa Fe Undercrossing

I created this 3 x 5 foot mosaic piece as part of a public art project funded by the City of Encinitas in partnership with Caltrans and SANDAG Build NCC.

This piece is installed along the north wall of the bike and pedestrian lanes through the Santa Fe Undercrossing in Encinitas.

Interpreting the theme “Encinitas Up Close,” I decided to highlight some of the native plants and insects that call San Diego home and help make this the most biodiverse county in the continental US.
